What do I bring to a book-making workshop?
Just bring yourself, as all the tools and materials you will need are provided.
The workshop course information will detail If you are being provided with refreshments and food as part of the course, if there are facilities to make a purchase at the location or if need to bring your own food/drink for the session.

Can under 18 year olds attend workshops?
For most workshops students must be aged 18 years old or over to attend due to insurance pruposes.
There are some 'Learn and Create Together' workshops that are specially designed for parents/caregivers to attend with children aged over 8. Please check workshop details to make sure you have booked the right workshop.
-
Can my dietary needs be accommodated?
If a workshop location is providing lunch, they can usually accommodate most dietary needs.
Please let me know if you have any specific dietary requests before booking, as I can make sure your needs can be met at the location you have chosen.
-
Can I attend the workshop online?
Unfortunately, this is not possible due to me having to demonstrate close-up skills and support individual students at various times, as well as move around the classroom throughout a teaching session.
-
Are there additional costs that are not included in the workshop price?
All the tools and materials you will need are included in the workshop price.
At some locations a meal and refreshments are also included in the workshop price. Please check at the time of booking so you are not disappointed.

What if there are no spaces left on the workshop that I would like to attend?

What type of damaged book shall I bring to a Novice Repair Workshop?
Please bring a book no larger than A4 sized, that is cloth or paper covered only (leather repairs are not taught in the Novice Repair Workshop), that has some spine, book cover and page damage, but not in pieces or has mould.
Bringing a book that is not significantly damaged, and of a reasonable size to handle, will greatly help you whilst you are learning how to carry out repairs, and gives you the best opportunity to complete your project in the time we have, enabling you to get the most from your workshop.
If you are not sure if your book repair project is suitable, please message me via my Contacts page and upload photos of your book so we can discuss the repairs before you come to your workshop.
-
Can I bring my own tools and repair materials?
You will only be taught using the tools and materials provided to you during a workshop, as this ensures that I can teach you the techniques and skills required for making and repairing books for you to apply at home.
Any tools not provided by me are not covered by my insurance. This is for everyone's safety during the workshop.
-
What happens if I need to cancel my workshop place or miss a session?
Please see my Terms and Conditions under the heading Cancellations, Failure to Attend and Refunds.
